SUPPORTING EMPLOYEES

The FWG-Foundation is not only committed to charitable projects but also supports employees of Familie Wiesner Gastronomie AG in special life situations. This support ranges from interest-free loans for education, driving tests, or debt repayment to individual assistance-such as covering the cost of a plane ticket so an employee can visit their long-missed family back home.

Are you going through a difficult time and in need of support? Feel free to fill out the donation request form.

EMPLOYEE STORIES

Since its founding, the FWG-Foundation has supported numerous members of the FWG family—demonstrating how valuable each team member truly is.

Here, employees and Foundation Board members share their personal stories: the support they received, what the Foundation means to them, and their goals for the future.

To protect the individuals, personal details have been changed.

LOUIS

Restaurant manager
"The FWG-Foundation made it possible for me to pre-finance my further education.

Louis (41) enjoys building and tinkering at his holiday home in his spare time. Creating something with his hands gives him a welcome balance to his work life. He also loves spending time with his family—especially over a good meal.

Where I recharge: In the mountains and during time with my son.

What the FWG-Foundation did for me: The FWG-Foundation made it possible for me to pursue further education. They gave me an interest-free loan, which allowed me to pre-finance the programme.

My dream: I’d love to go on a round-the-world trip – all in one go.

RAOUL

Chef
"I want to share my story to show my gratitude for the support I received.

Raoul (39) works with passion as a chef and spends his free time enjoying nature.

Where I recharge: I fill up my energy in nature—whether it’s on peaceful walks with my family or while out jogging.

What the FWG-Foundation did for me: My family and I had to move out of our old apartment because it was being renovated. The FWG-Foundation supported me with an interest-free loan of CHF 1,000 to help cover the deposit for our new home.

My dream: I want to share my story with other FWG employees and, in doing so, express my gratitude and help others feel encouraged to reach out.

JOLANDA

Employee development
"With the help of the FWG-Foundation, we can support people in difficult life situations. I’m proud to be part of it.

Jolanda (38) is always looking for growth and rarely stands still – which can be a challenge for those around her. At FWG, she never had to choose between her love for gastronomy, her creativity, and her desire to support and inspire others – her job combines all her passions and is, without a doubt, her calling.

Where I recharge: Spending time with my loved ones and seeing my godson smile.

What the FWG-Foundation did for me: It gives me the opportunity to help fellow employees who are going through tough times.

My dream: I’m already living it!

RICHARD

Sushi master
"The FWG-Foundation supported me with a personal matter – I’m truly grateful for everything.

Richard (30) enjoys spending his free time learning new things, staying active through sports, and exploring whatever sparks his curiosity.

Where I recharge: Through sports.

What the FWG-Foundation did for me: The FWG-Foundation supported me with advice and action – they helped initiate the process for debt counselling and even covered the cost of a flight home. Now I can visit my father, who has been alone since the COVID situation. I’m incredibly thankful for that.

My dream: I want to keep growing, keep learning – and one day start a family of my own.

JAN

Head chef
"Thanks to the FWG-Foundation, I was able to start debt counselling. I saved a significant amount and can now look to the future with more ease and confidence – together with my little family.”

Jan (30) is passionate about cooking and eating. At home, his son brings both structure and chaos into everyday life – a little ray of sunshine who is the centre of the young family’s world.

Where I recharge: Sleeping, relaxing in the hammock on the terrace, and of course, spending time with our little whirlwind.

What the FWG-Foundation did for me: Thanks to debt counselling, an agreement was reached with the credit company, reducing my debt to less than a third. With an interest-free loan from the FWG-Foundation, I was able to pay it off. That helped me sleep better and look to the future with more peace of mind. I can only encourage anyone in debt to take this step—with a clear overview, it’s possible.

My dream: To be completely debt-free and look to the future without worry. One day I’d love to afford a holiday again—or maybe even pursue further education.

MIA

Assistant manager
"The FWG-Foundation made it possible for me to start further education and invest in my future and career.

Mia (26) loves spending her free time with friends and family—they give her strength and balance in her fast-paced job in gastronomy. She also enjoys travelling and discovering new countries and dishes. Mia describes herself as someone who takes life at a relaxed pace and enjoys the moment.

Where I recharge: When I’m out and about with my people.

What the FWG-Foundation did for me: The FWG-Foundation supported me with my further education. Given my financial situation, I wouldn’t have been able to afford it on my own. They gave me an interest-free loan with manageable repayments—and part of it was even a donation. I’m incredibly relieved and grateful. Without the Foundation’s support, this would have never been possible.

My dream: One day, I want to look back and say: “I achieved everything I set out to do.”

ARLO

Back office
The FWG-Foundation team helped me get my Swiss driver’s licence.

Arlo (30) has been living in Switzerland for 4.5 years and originally comes from Syria. He has been working in the office and the hot kitchen for almost a year. Recently, he got the chance to learn wok handling—which he really enjoys. In his free time, he finds balance through swimming and going for walks.

Where I recharge: By meeting up with friends.

What the FWG-Foundation did for me: The FWG-Foundation supported me with an interest-free loan so I could convert my Syrian driver’s licence before it expired. I was also able to pay the first insurance rate and register my car—regaining a sense of independence and quality of life.

My dream: I want to do my job well and, maybe one day, take on a new challenge.
